I Love New York City for many reasons. Fashion, art, music, entertainment and of course shopping are at the top of the list. As a teenager it was the lure of fashion and fun that had me dressing my friends up and taking them out on the town. I especially loved the little boutiques and specialty stores that created their own looks. It's been 25 years since I moved here from Long Island and I still love the people and inspirations that always bubble
and brew in this wonderful melting-pot of NYC. Being involved in art,
fashion design, retail and entertainment over the years has connected
me with some brilliant people in these fields.

The goal behind HMHnyc is to bring the inspired creations of NYC's talent to the web making it available to the world via our Spotlight page and our on-line specialty store. Here you will be able to shop a hand selected collection of famous-maker products with "Uptown" glitz as well as cutting edge designs from "Downtown's" emerging designers.

These days most of the underground has been bubbling in Brooklyn. It's nice to see the borough I have choosen to live in take center stage. Fort Greene, DUMBO, Williamsburg, Red hook and other neighborhoods have become the choosen grounds of many of the talented hipsters who set the trends. As we grow, we will be featuring more artist-made products, one of a kind pieces and vintage collectibles from all five, fabulous buroughs and beyond.

Herbert Hernandez is an artist/designer living in Brooklyn, NYC. Currently he is expressing himself through jewelry design and photography and is known for his contemporary pearl jewelry. He has been featured in The New Yorker, New York Newsday, Time Out NY, Paper Magazine, to name a few. He has also been seen on many NYC stages as a multi-media performance artist. His clothing and jewelry designs have dressed some of the best music performers from Mary J. Blige and Eve to Vial. Herb's fashion and art events are not to be missed.
